Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information the Today Quiz app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Anonymous Authentication. You may use the app without creating an account. When you do, Firebase Anonymous Authentication assigns a random unique identifier (UID) to your device session — no name, email address, or any personal information is required or collected.
Authenticated Sign-In (Apple & Google). You may optionally sign in using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication. When you sign in this way, we receive from the provider and store the following information linked to your account:
We do not receive or store your password. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple or Google.
Username. When you sign in and create an account, you choose a username. This username is stored in our database and is publicly visible to all users on leaderboards and to members of any groups you join or create. Please do not include personal information in your username.
Quiz Results & Leaderboard Data. We store your quiz results (answers submitted and score for each daily quiz) linked to your account. Your scores and username may be displayed on the global leaderboard (top 1,000 results, visible to all users) and on group leaderboards (visible to members of each group you belong to).
Group Data. If you create or join a group, we store the group name, membership records (your UID and username), and the quiz scores of all members within that group. Group names and members' usernames are visible to all group members.
Push Notifications. The app will request your permission to send push notifications. If you grant permission, we use it solely to notify you when a new daily quiz is ready to play. We do not send marketing messages or share your notification token with third parties. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Advertising Data. The app displays advertisements served by Google AdMob and its mediation partners. These advertising partners may automatically collect certain information from your device in order to serve ads, including:
This data is collected directly by the advertising SDKs under each partner's own privacy policy and is not stored by us.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS). On iOS 14 and later, the app will present Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you grant permission, data from this app may be used to track you across apps and websites for targeted advertising purposes. If you deny permission, only non-personalized ads will be shown. You can update this choice at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

By default, personalized advertising may be served based on your advertising identifier. You have the following controls:
Opting out of personalized ads limits ad targeting but does not remove advertisements from the app.
Anonymous users: Your quiz results are linked to your anonymous UID. If you uninstall the app, access to your anonymous account is lost. To request deletion of data associated with your anonymous UID, contact us and include your UID (visible in app settings).
Authenticated users — In-App Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data directly from within the app at any time:
Deleting your account will permanently remove the following data from our systems:
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We will complete the deletion within 30 days of your request. Residual copies in automated backups will be purged within that same period.
Additionally:
Revoking provider access does not automatically delete your data from our database. Please use the in-app deletion feature above. If you experience any difficulty completing the deletion, contact us at contact@todayquizapp.com.
The app is not directed at children under 13. Anonymous users do not provide personal information. However, users who sign in with Apple or Google will have their email address stored by us. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). If you believe a child has created an authenticated account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
